Van Specifications
Description
TMG LIMITED 008 The most expensive Caddy Mk5 you'll see. And for good reason. This is not priced against other Caddy vans.
It is priced against what it would cost to build again. TMG LIMITED 008 exists in a category of its own. Ultra-low mileage.
The highest-spec factory base. Then taken far beyond factory with a level of work, parts and execution that simply does not exist in the mainstream market. If you are comparing this to standard vans or typical "modified" builds, you are already looking in the wrong place.
THE FOUNDATION We began with the highest specification Volkswagen Caddy available from VW Commerce Pro, the one that already commands serious money before any work begins. DSG transmission, Virtual Cockpit, factory LED lighting and premium factory technology and comfort. Most Caddys never reach this starting point.
THE REALITY This is TMG LIMITED build number 008. Finished in Fortuna Red, a colour rarely seen on Mk5 builds, and showing just 4,000 miles from new, this vehicle presents in near-delivery condition throughout. Registered 09 May 2024, supplied by us from new and commissioned as a no-budget build, with the build cost alone exceeding today's asking price.
Due to the exceptionally low mileage, the vehicle has not yet required a service and will be supplied with a fresh major service prior to delivery. WHERE THE MONEY ACTUALLY WENT This is where cheaper vans fall apart. TMG 8.5 GTI-inspired hybrid front bumper MK8 R rear bumper conversion Hybrid side skirts Rev cam Heated seats Porsche front brake calipers Forged alloy wheels Upgraded LED headlamps Rear seat conversion Full bespoke suede interior retrim with contrast stitching Heated steering wheel Pro Navigation Driver mode module upgrade Ambient lighting pack Adaptive cruise control Audison premium sound system Rear Akrapovič-style exhaust tips VW service plan including first MOT These are not cosmetic bolt-ons.
This is thousands in parts, thousands in labour, and hundreds of hours of specialist work. To replicate this build today, you would spend more, it would take months, and it still would not be identical. WHY THIS COSTS WHAT IT COSTS TMG Limited builds are created entirely in-house at our 10,000 sq ft facility.
No outsourcing. No subcontracting. No diluted responsibility.
Paint, mechanical, upholstery, final assembly and QC, every step controlled, documented and signed off. Before delivery, the vehicle undergoes an intensive three-day professional detail, including machine polishing, full interior deep cleaning and upholstery shampooing. This is not volume work.
This is low-volume, high-cost craftsmanship. We're proud to hold over 300 five-star Trustpilot reviews. For the fastest response, message us directly on WhatsApp. Included in the price is a 6-month comprehensive warranty, 12 months RAC breakdown cover, a brand-new major service and a 12-month MOT with no advisories.
Finance options are available and arranged in-house, making the process simple, transparent and stress-free. No hidden extras. No upsells.
THE BOTTOM LINE There are cheaper Caddys. There are modified Caddys. There are vans that look good in photos.
But there is only one TMG LIMITED 008. This is for the buyer who understands build cost matters, execution matters, proven in-house capability matters, and replacing this would cost more than buying it. If price is your first question, this is not your van.
If value is your focus, this one makes sense immediately.

Prices for used Caddy vans vary significantly based on age, mileage, condition, and specification. The following table provides a realistic snapshot for the popular 2010-2020 Caddy generation:
| Year | Mileage (est.) | Condition | Price Range (GBP) |
|---|---|---|---|

| 2018-2020 | 40,000-80,000 | Very Good | £9,500 - £14,000 |

Key Specifications
- Payload: Typically ranges from 550kg to 810kg depending on specification (e.g., Caddy Maxi offers higher capacity).
- Load Volume: Standard Caddy offers around 3.2 m³, while the Caddy Maxi extends this to approximately 4.2 m³.
- Dimensions (Standard Caddy L1 H1):
- External Length: ~4,408mm
- External Width (inc. mirrors): ~2,065mm
- External Height: ~1,822mm
- Engine Options (Popular generation 2010-2020):
- Diesel: 1.6-litre TDI (75PS, 102PS), 2.0-litre TDI (102PS, 122PS, 150PS).
- Petrol: Less common, but 1.2-litre TSI (84PS, 105PS) and 1.4-litre TSI (125PS) were available.
- Euro Standard: Most models from 2015 onwards are Euro 6 compliant with AdBlue, while older models will likely be Euro 5.
What to Look For When Buying Used
The Caddy is generally robust, but vigilance is key:
- DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter): Essential for Euro 5/6 diesels. Check service history for adequate regeneration cycles, especially if the van saw mostly short-haul city driving. A blocked DPF can lead to expensive repairs.
- Timing Belt/Chain:
- 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI (pre-2015): These typically used a timing belt which requires replacement every 5 years or 60,000-80,000 miles (check VW guidelines for specific models). Ensure this has been done.
- Newer 2.0 TDI (post-2015) and TSI engines: Often use a timing chain, which is generally maintenance-free but can stretch on very high mileage or poorly serviced units. Listen for rattling on startup.
- Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF): Common on manual diesel models. Listen for clonking noises when switching gears or vibrations under load – a £800-£1,200 repair.
- Rust Spots: Check wheel arches, door bottoms, and around the rear number plate light, particularly on older models or those from coastal areas.
- Sliding Door Mechanism: Test both sliding doors thoroughly for smooth operation and secure latching. Parts wear over time.
- Service History: A full, documented service history is paramount, especially for commercial vehicles.
Running Costs for Businesses
- Typical Insurance Group: Caddy vans generally fall into insurance groups 9E-15E depending on engine size and specification, which is relatively affordable for a commercial vehicle.
- Fuel Economy:
- 1.6 TDI (102PS): Expect 40-50 mpg combined.
- 2.0 TDI (102PS/122PS): Similar, around 40-48 mpg combined.
- Petrol (1.2/1.4 TSI): 35-45 mpg, but can drop significantly under load.
- Servicing: Main dealer servicing can be £200-£400 for minor, £350-£600 for major. Independent specialists offer competitive rates (e.g., £150-£300).
- ULEZ/CAZ Compliance: Most diesel Caddy vans registered after September 2015 (Euro 6) are compliant with UK ULEZ and CAZ zones. Older Euro 5 models will incur charges. Always double-check specific vehicle registration via the TFL or local council websites.
