1966 MG MGB GT 1.8 Coupe

Just arrived with us here at RFH Classics we are pleased to be able to offer this beautifully restored example of a 1966 (D) MGB GT brought to you in Tartan Red with one of the nicest interiors we've seen recently. The car, which has recently emerged from a private collection, has been the subject of an exceptionally comprehensive restoration. Sadly, having commissioned the restoration, its former owner suffered ill health and never had the opportunity to enjoy the finished car so it was stored for the past few years but is now with us ready for its next custodian.

As you'll see from these initial photographs the restoration of this early GT was taken very seriously indeed. Finished in striking Tartan Red with a beautifully presented matching Red interior piped in Black, the attention to detail extends throughout the car. The engine bay is particularly impressive, while the original pressed and powder coated steel wheels, chrome hubcaps and period detailing give it exactly the understated appearance that suits an early MGB GT.

Being a 1966 example, this comes from the early years of MGB GT production and retains much of the character that makes these first cars particularly appealing. The lead free 1.8 petrol engine, which has excellent oil pressure, is paired to a manual 4 speed gearbox with overdrive fitted. The car is accompanied with a substantial history folder which we will highlight further once the car has been prepared for sale.
